Let’s Learn to Quilt

Let’s Learn to Quilt

Want to learn to quilt? Don’t be overwhelmed. Nita will walk you through the process, step by step, as you make a lovely 18” x 58” table runner. In the first class, we will cover tips for fabric selection, safe rotary cutting, getting a perfect 1/4” seam, proper pressing, and block assembly. The second class will cover making the “quilt sandwich”, basic machine quilting, and finishing. There may be some homework between classes.

If you’ve always wanted to try your hand at quilting, but didn’t know how to start, this is the class for you! Or if you tried it on your own with less than great success, this class will make you a very happy quilter. This is a 2-part class.

Date: Tuesdays, January 19 and February 2; 10 am - 4 pm
Tuition: $63 for both classes
Instructor: Nita Postlethwait

Students should be comfortable with sewing an accurate 1/4” seam, and be able to use a rotary cutter.

You will have samples of each style to take home for inspiration and you may finish enough blocks for a small quilt.
