Painting Fabric
There’s something to interest everyone at Paramount, and this term we have something really special. Artist Carolyn Fredrickson is teaching how to create batik style fabric and backgrounds of nature using fabric paints.
Carolyn has been painting for about 40 years, using different types of paint. About 2-1/2 years ago she learned about Jacquard fabric paints and has been working with them ever since. Over the years, she has received many awards for her paintings; and her fabric painting has been in several local gallery shows recently.
Batik Style Fabric Painting
Batik style painting on fabric using Jacquard Dye-na-flow acrylic paint (which acts like a dye) is so simple and easy to learn, even a cave woman can do it! Learn how to get your own stunning colors and patterns on fabric to use with appliqués, patchwork, quilting, garments and embellishments. Have fun creating tie-dyed, folded, scrunched, blended, speckled, salty dogs and other creations. You will have fabric that is so different that no one else will have anything like it and it can’t be duplicated exactly. Each piece is a unique work of art. Paint will be provided.
