Basic T-shirt - Eugene

Frustrated by trying to sew knits on your sewing machine or serger? Come make a simple crew neck t-shirt while learning Millie's tips and tricks for working with knits on either (or both) machines.

Please bring all of these supplies to class, and be sure to put your name on all items you bring (just in case they are left behind).

• Sewing machine and everything you need to use it (power cord, foot control, presser feet, bobbins, spool cap, etc. and the instruction book if you don’t know how to use your machine). OR
• Serger and everything you need to use it (power cord, foot control, cone supports, tweezers, etc. and the instruction book if you don’t know how to use your machine).
• New needles, 80/12 jersey/ballpoint or 75/11 stretch
• Scissors
• Pencil & paper for taking notes
• Glass head silk pins (or other good quality sewing pins)
• Seam ripper
• Pattern: Jalie 2805: Women's T-Shirt
• Fabric for t-shirt, pre-shrunk and cut out; interlock is the easiest to work with. (If you need help with choosing size or cutting out, check with Millie.)
• Thread
  • Sewing machine: Good quality polyester thread, two spools or wind two bobbins from one spool
  • Serger: Good quality polyester thread, four cones or two spools and wind a bobbin from each spool

• Double needle, 2.5 or 4.0 stretch or 2.5, 3.0, 4.0 universal
