Bernina 5/7/8 Club - Eugene

January's class is centered around the circular embroidery attachment. We will be playing with decorative stitches to create one side of a round hot pad or trivet and then quilt it with the "circle sew". Millie will also demonstrate binding the hot pad with the #88 bias binder.

  • Bernina machine with power cord/foot control
  • Regular stitch plate
  • #20C/20 open embroidery foot, #83 circular embroidery attachment
  • New 75/11 embroidery needle or 80/12 topstitching needle
  • Good quality thread (embroidery, quilting, construction) to contrast with fabric
  • Two bobbins, one wound with bobbin thread of your preference and one wound with matching thread to your top thread
  • Small scissors or snips
  • Frixion or other removable marker
  • Rotary cutter
  •  Fabric:
    • 12" square cotton, solid or blender, for decorative side of hot pad, pre-treated with Terial Magic, Perfect Sew or other fabric starch
    • 12" square thin batting
    • 12" square Insul-Bright OR an additional 12" square thin batting
    • 1/3 yd. cotton, solid or blender for backing and binding


Requirements: Lessons are open to people who purchased their machine from Paramount.
