Buttonholes in Embroidery: Many times a project will have issues with doing buttonholes: Weight of garment, thickness of cloth or nearby seam allowances, necessary stabilizer. Doing them with your embroidery machine can help with these situations. We will be doing buttonholes for the back of a pillow, but the directions would apply for other projects.
Supplies:
Bernina with embroidery module
#26 embroidery foot
Mega, maxi or jumbo hoop with template
#1C/D or #34C/D foot
#18 foot (optional) for sewing on buttons
1 yard fabric to make a 14-16” pillow
Pillow form to fit pillow
Thread to match fabric—can be construction or embroidery thread
Fusible interfacing for buttonhole/button area
Tear-away stabilizer to fit hoop
Marking tool: Chalk or heat erasable
18” ruler
Glue stick
