Arabesque Quilt - Eugene

In this class, we will learn a foundation paper piecing technique to start you on your way to making this beautiful quilt top.
The pattern indicates that this is an advanced pattern, but if Laura can do it, so can you! As long as you have a good grasp on running your sewing machine and know how to use an iron and rotary cutter, you can make this quilt top.
THIS IS THE LAST TIME WE WILL BE OFFERING THIS CLASS, so sign up soon!

HOMEWORK!
Prepare the pattern, per the instructions, before class. Also, please write your name on your pattern pieces and other items so we don’t get them mixed up.
The fabrics listed above are the recommendations for the top, per the pattern. I ended up a little bit short on the medium-dark and dark, and had a lot of the light fabric left over. The pattern also calls for solids, but I used a mottled fabric that read like a solid and I loved the result! (Hint: a lot of people get confused with paper piecing because it feels backwards. If you choose fabrics that have no right and wrong sides, like batiks, you eliminate this element.)
To finish the quilt, you’ll need 3 ½ yards for backing, 2/3 yards for binding, and a 60” x 60” piece of batting. The finished quilt size is listed as 52” x 52”.
Please remember that there are no returns on classes. If you cannot attend class, you are welcome to send someone in your place. Due to copyright laws, books and patterns cannot be returned or exchanged.
