Arcadia Avenue Quilt - Salem

NOTE: The system says that sign-up is closed, just because that's how the system is designed. We have already started the class, but there are seats still available in Salem, and there is plenty of time to get going on this fun quilt! Please come into the store to register.

Please remember that there are no returns on classes. If you cannot attend, you are welcome to send someone in your place.


Over 12 months (October – October, skipping December), we will work our way through all 12 blocks in this paper pieced pattern.


In the first class, we will start with block #6! Please have your pieces cut before you come to class. If you have any questions before class, I will be happy to help.



  •          Arcadia Avenue BOM pattern booklet
  •          pattern pieces (you will need to copy them from the pattern booklet onto foundation or regular paper)
  •          sewing machine and everything you need to use it (power cord, foot pedal, bobbins, etc.)
  •          fabric (as printed in the pattern, but I’ll list it below)
  •          thread
  •          seam ripper
  •          rotary cutter
  •          cutting mat (12” x 18” or larger)
  •          regular cutting ruler
  •          Add-A-Quarter ruler
  •          small iron
  •          ironing surface
  •          pins (best: long, thin, flat head pins)


Optional but helpful and recommended:

  •          walking foot (highly recommended)
  •          extra needles
  •          Wonder Clips
  •          thin, flexible ruler (to help fold the paper)
  •          small scissors or snips
  •          serger tweezers or hemostat (to help remove the paper)
  •          9 ½” or larger 60-degree triangle ruler (to cut the background later)
  •          light box





½ yard of each of 12 assorted fabrics

2 ¾ yards of a light fabric

1 ¾ yards of a medium fabric

2 ¾ yards of a dark fabric

1  ½ yards of 2 coordinating background fabrics

5/8 yard binding fabric

5 ½ yards of backing fabric
