Tamarack Quilted Jacket - Eugene

Let's combine quilting and garment sewing! After quilting your fabric using either a walking foot or free-motion, you'll cut and construct the Tamarack Jacket from Grainline Studio. You'll also learn how to make a welt pocket and finish the jacket edges with bias binding.


  • Sewing machine and components to make it go
  • Walking foot (or built-in dual feed) OR free-motion foot of your choice
  • Regular sewing foot
  • New 90/14 universal or quilting needle
  • 50-wt. or 40-wt. thread to match or contrast outer fabric and/or lining
  • Tamarack Jacket pattern from Grainline Studio
  • Fabric requirements from back of pattern envelope, pre-shrunk and pressed
  • Batting requirement from back of pattern envelope
  • Optional: Machingers for free-motion quilting
  • Additional supplies will be announced at the first class (closures)
