Simple Serging: Reusable Paper Towels - Salem

Sew sustainable! Make a set of reusable paper towels from your favorite colors/prints, or that coordinate with your kitchen. Cut down on paper towel use while you learn how to serge a four thread overlock confidently and manage those tails with ease! Then, swap your serger's settings and learn how to sew a beautiful rolled hem to create a set of reusable cloth napkins featuring our Kitchen Wovens line!
Materials:
-Serger and everything to make it go
-Flannel yardage or flannel fat quarter medley, exact yardage depends on how many you'd like in the set. 1 yard/ 4 fat quarters yields eight reusable paper towels. Can be a matching set or a fun assortment!
-Four cones of coordinating serger thread, complimenting fabrics
-Paper towel tube (optional)
-1 - 1 1/2 yards cotton or linen for napkins; final amount depends on desired size and quantity of napkins. 1 yard yields four 16" napkins, 1 1/2 yards yields four 20" napkins.
-Three cones of serger thread that coordinate with napkins
-Needle with large eye such as a tapestry or flat needle
-Fray check/seam sealant
-Basic sewing supplies; 80/12 universal needle, rotary cutter, 6x24 quilting ruler, fabric marking tool, etc.
