Binding 101 - Eugene



Do You have a stack of quilts that need to be bound, but are unsure how to move forward? Come learn the basics of attaching binding to your quilts: By hand, using your sewing machine or a combination of both. Plus, we will discuss tools that make the job easier.

Supplies:

(4) 2 1/2" Strips cut the width of fabric

(2) 36" X 36" squares of woven cotton (can be same or different as the above strips--your choice)

(1) 36" X 36" square of batting

Sewing machine and components to make it sew

Thread for sewing on the binding

Wonder clips OR straight pins to hold binding in place

Optional: Hand sewing needle and thread conditioner if you are hand sewing the binding
